never used grape vine most of the time hickory that has been soaked in some thing .........I like good old JD my self to soak it in for a few hour's

like a light smoked leg of lamb ....smoked with rosemary .......

Any particular type of wood you prefer,,

I do a little smokin myself Dundee, bacon and such like.. I must confess to not having perfected it.. But its palatable  lol

just using my new smoker

every body needs to try .......
soak wood chips in fruity wine over night for the smoker
drain off wine place chips on hot coal's 

put meat in turn now and then 
3 to 4 hrs later you have the best leg of lamb..............

you can buy a webber smoker for around 120 bucks now .......every body needs to try it 
fish is out of this world cook like this....................
