Ummmm I suppose I should mention that mine doesn't exactly look like that pristine specimen. Mine is more slap dash and rustic

CHOCOLATE LOG

1 packet Chocolate Ripple biscuits
Cream
Icing sugar
Vanilla
Sweet Sherry or Brandy

Whip cream with a little icing sugar and vanilla. Dip biscuits in Sherry/Brandy then stick the biscuits together with cream, one behind the other, to form a log. 2 rows side by side. Cover log with remaining cream and sprinkle with scrunched Flake. Refrigerate. Slice on an angle.

BAILEYS DIP FOR FRUIT PLATTER

1 carton of sour cream
baileys
brown sugar

1.Mix it all together - I don't have quantities- just keep adding till it tastes good Very Happy
Stick back in the fridge to thicken up.

2.Serve with strawberries, rockmelon, fresh pineapple etc.

3.Prepare to die and go to heaven.

PS - don't used 'light sour cream' - it's too runny.

I love prawns too, we usually have them xmas eve, got a batch a few weeks ago that some others said were dodgey as they felt sick the next day, I was fine.

I love em and could eat them by the dozens but hate cleaning and shelling the suckers.

Hey Booys - I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't like prawns!!

I don't know why I like peeling them though - maybe the ripping off of their heads gives me some kind of perverse pleasure or something! When I have to be around my brother for Christmas I guess I need to let off a little steam somehow - so it's either ripping the heads of prawns or ripping the head off my brother! c34

It's usually too hot for hot food and cooking, so it's all pretty easy in our family. Prawns (yuck none for me thanks, but I will sit there and peel them for anyone who wants me to), ham, cold roast chicken, garden salad, coleslaw, potato salad etc. All pretty easy. We're never all that hungry usually anyway because we've spent the morning snacking on chips, crackers, dips, pretzels and all sorts of other rubbish!

Give us your recipes and any tips etc for making the day easy. Add pics if you like!

Or just let us know what foods you usually eat on the big day, is its always the traditional food or do you

sometimes have just a bbq?
